Letham Community Sports Club

 

Letham Amateurs (sponsored by Trev’s House of Tattoos, Saints Social Club, Alexis Rose, Howdens Joinery,DRC Contracts, Sidey)  For the second time this season Balmoral inflicted a defeat on the Tangerines this time in the Perthshire Cup. Missed chances cost them dearly and the visitors in the end deservedly won through to the next round. Saturday brings Stenhousemuir Community to Seven Acres in the sixth round of the Scottish Cup. Letham have never reached this far before and realise this will be a severe challenge as to progression into the last 16

Letham 1995 (sponsored by Perthshire Flooring)  Last week’s game against Taybank was postponed due to ground conditions. On Sunday Buddies are the visitors for a league game.

Letham U19 Sky Blue (sponsored by Montana Restoration)   Disappointing last week as the team were unable to travel to Carnoustie. On Sunday they have an away league encounter against Dee Club.

Letham 1999 Tangerines  (sponsored by John Gillespie, Hairdresser, St.John Street)  On Sunday the team travels north to play Breadalbane /Ballinluig for a league match. Thomas will advise on travel arrangements.

Letham 2000 Tangerines (sponsored by Graham & Sibbald/ Drainco (Scotland) Ltd)   On Sunday the team play Tay Thistle at the Bowl. Kick off 12.30 p.m.

Letham 2001 Tangerines (sponsored by New Today, Furniture Centre, Canal Street) In the quarter final tie last week in Dundee against Dundee West the team went down by four goals to one.  This Sunday they are involved in another quarter final tie at Kirrie.

Letham 2002 Tangerines (sponsored by McDonald’s, RGW Play Area Maint. Ltd., D Peebles, Electrical Contractor)  Last week’s game against Jeanfield Swifts Red was postponed due to ground conditions. The same fixture is planned for this Sunday.

Letham 2002 Sky Blues (sponsored by MKM Building Merchants)  Game at Crieff last week was cancelled. This Sunday the same fixture is planned.

Letham 2003 Tangerines (sponsored by Vending Services Ltd)  Last week’s special training session was an eye opener for the standard required to play eleven a side.

Letham 2003 Whites  (sponsored by China, China, St. Leonards Bridge)  The team is preparing for the new season when they go to eleven a side. Coaching each Wednesday at 6.00p.m.

Letham 2004 Tangerines (sponsored by Carpet Discount Store, Friarton, Perth) Coaching sessions on Tuesday evenings from 6.00p.m.

Letham 2004 Whites (sponsored by Tower Veterinary Centre)  Coaching sessions on Tuesday evening from 6.00p.m.

Letham 2004Sky Blues  (sponsored by John Tainsh, Convenience Store) Coaching sessions on Wednesday evenings from 6.00p.m.

Letham 2006 Tangerines (sponsored by Anonymous Donor) Arrangements are well advanced in preparation for the new season. Training tomorrow at 9.00am

Letham 2006 Sky Blue (sponsored by McDonald’s) The new team manager will be in place tomorrow for the training session at Seven Acres at 9.00am

 

Letham Girls.

The club hosted a Football Festival last weekend and will again for the next two weekends on behalf of the SWFA East Region on the 3G pitch at Seven Acres.

Letham Girls U17 s (sponsored by Alex O’Brien, Contractor. Kilmac Group, Kelly Communications)  The girls playing together for the very first time defeated Jeanfield by two goals to one. Pleasing throughout was the great link up play. The team are again in action on Sunday.

Letham Girls U15 (sponsored by MP & H McDonald, Plumbing & Heating) This new look team played very well but unfortunately didn’t get the breaks. They are on duty again on Sunday between 10 and 12 .00pm            

Letham Girls U13 (sponsored by Aviva) The team made a good start in the Festival with some close games. They can look forward to this week’s festival on Sunday starting at 10.00a.m.

Letham Girls U13 Juniors   The team started the festival with a great win and ran other teams very close. Next game is on Sunday from 10.00a.m.

Letham Girls U11 Tangerine and Whites (sponsored by Nawaabs Restaurant)   The girls started the campaign with a great goal which followed very good passing movement. Prospects look promising for this hard working group of girls.

Letham Girls U9 and Letham Girls Soccer School.   Any girl aged eight year old or younger is welcome to attend special coaching courses on Monday evening at Seven Acres Park from 6.45 p.m. till 7.00p.m.

Letham Tot’s Soccer School

The soccer school for boys and girls in primaries one, two and three continues at 9.00a.m. on the new all-weather 3G pitch at Seven Acres tomorrow Saturday. Cost is £2. Please wear boots and shin guards and bring a drink.  If arriving by car please use car park via Balgowan Road entrance. No need to pre-book.

Letham Coaches (sponsored by Scottish Co-op Community Fund)  Would like to hear from volunteers willing to give up some of their spare time and become a coach to one of our younger teams. Pay to Play         

Letham, in conjunction with Active Schools, offer school kids in primaries four to seven an opportunity every Tuesday from 3.30 till 5.00 p.m. to play football  at Seven Acres Park, Newhouse Road, Letham for a £1. with qualified football coaches. Best to wear boots and wear warm clothing. No need to pre-book.

Walking Football              

Letham in conjunction with Live Active invite women and men to play walking football which recommenced last  Friday 16th, January 2015 between 11.15 am and 12.15 p.m. at the Letham Centre, Tweedsmuir Road, Letham. More information from Bill Ellis on 07957864289

Charity Football Match

At Seven Acres Park, Newhouse Road, Letham on Sunday 1st February a charity football match took place between a Letham Select against Perthshire Referees at 4.00p.m. Proceeds went to help Jack McNaughton receive treatment in America. Many thanks to all who contributed.
