Letham Community Sports Club

Letham Amateurs (sponsored by Trev’s House of Tattoos, Saints Social Club, Barossa Street. DRC Contracts, Sidey)   In a friendly game last week the Tangerines played the Pole team for the very first time. The visitors scored first but then the more experienced home team got into gear and ran out very comfortable winners by five goals to one. On Saturday Dundee City visit Seven Acres in the second round of the North of Tay Cup. Game kicks off at 2.00p.m.  

Letham 1995 (sponsored by Perthshire Flooring)  Playing their first game on the all-weather surface the team took a while to settle. However two quick goals towards the end of the first half set them on their way to a three goal to nil victory over Moncrieffe Arms. This weekend away to Christies.

Letham U19 Sky Blues (sponsored by Montana Restoration) The Sky Blues are going through a tough time at the moment due to injuries in key positions. Last Sunday was no exception when they played the club’s under sixteen Tangerine team in a friendly. No fixture this weekend.

Letham U16 Tangerine 1999 (sponsored by John Gillespie, Hairdresser, St.John Street)  The  team played their older club mates in a practice game at Almondbank and surprised them with their brand of play. No fixture this weekend. The scheduled game against Crieff was postponed.

Letham U16 White 1999 (sponsored by Alex O’Brien, Contractor. Kilmac Group, Kelly Communications)  The game against Kinnoull was postponed due to the opposition not having enough players. No fixture this weekend.

Letham U15 Tangerine 2000 (sponsored by Graham & Sibbald/ Drainco (Scotland) Ltd)  At Crieff last Sunday the Tangies playing very good football were too good for the local team on the day winning by nine goals to one. No fixture this weekend.

Letham Tangerine U14 2001 (sponsored by New Today, Furniture Centre, Canal Street) No fixtures due to holidays.

Letham Tangerine 2002 (sponsored by McDonald’s, RGW Play Area Maint. Ltd., D Peebles, Electrical Contractor)  No fixtures due to holidays.

Letham Sky Blue 2002 (sponsored by MKM Building Merchants)    The game last week at Blairgowrie was postponed. No game this weekend.               

Letham Tangerine 2003 (sponsored by Vending Services Ltd)  No fixtures due to holidays.

Letham Tangerine 2004 (sponsored by Carpet Discount Store, Friarton, Perth)  At Scone last weekend the Tangerines surprised the home team with their brand of football. No game this weekend. Reminder that they are on car park duty tomorrow. Meet 2.00p.m. prompt

Letham Girls U15 (sponsored by MP & H McDonald, Plumbing & Heating) Last Saturday at home to Jeanfield Swifts both teams served up a cracking game of football. Swifts led by two goals into the second half but the Tangerines fought back well to earn a deserved draw. No game Saturday.

Letham Girls U13 (sponsored by Aviva)  No game last week. Saturday they entertain Jeanfield at Seven Acres.

Letham Girls U11 Tangerine (sponsored by R.A.S.C. R.C.T. Association)  No game last week. On Saturday Scone visit Seven Acres.

Letham Girls U11 White  No game last weekend. Lomond Colts visit Seven Acres on Saturday.

All-weather pitch          

Bookings on our all weather pitch can be made via. www.lethamfc.co.uk A new car park is now available via Balgowan Road.

Letham Tot’s Soccer School (sponsored by Struan Motors, Crieff Road)  The soccer school for boys and girls in primaries one, two and three continues at the new time of 9.00a.m. on the new all-weather pitch at Seven Acres. Cost is £2. Please wear boots and shin guards and bring a drink.  If arriving by car please use car park via Balgowan Road entrance.

Letham Coaches (sponsored by Scottish Co-op Community Fund)    Would like to hear from volunteers willing to give up some of their spare time and become a coach to one of our younger teams. Memory Lane

 Letham Juveniles changed their home venue from the South Inch to Seven Acres Park, Newhouse Road and played their first game on Saturday 25th, September 1976 against Roselea. Game ended in a two all draw. At that time there were three full sized pitches available to them which also accommodated their City Boys (under 18), Minor (under 16 team) and under 14 team. All playing in the traditional tangerine and white colours

Table Top Sale  

The Community section of the club are to hold a Table Top sale in the club’s Pavilion, Newhouse Road on Saturday 25th, October starting at 9.00a.m.. Items on sale have been kindly donated by Glendoick Garden Centre. Items especially suited for stocking fillers at Christmas. Also in attendance will be the Blue Van Fresh Fast Food.

New Appointment         

The club is pleased to announce that Scott Macleod has been appointed to take on the role of Head of Football & Coaching Development. Scott is a highly qualified and experienced coach and has just recently returned to Perth following similar roles in the U.S.A. His knowledge will be very beneficial not only to the players, coaching team and the club in general. Primarily he will be working with all the coaches to raise even further the standards to meet the ambitious development demands required by the Letham club.
