Letham Community Sports Club

Letham Amateurs (sponsored by Saints Social Club, Barossa Street. Tower Ridge Adventure Clothing. DRC Contracts)              Last week the Tangies defeated Jeanfield Swifts by four goals to two after extra time to reach the semi-final of the Perth & District Cup. A last minute goal by Balmoral meant the team had to share the points in their league match. A point that puts the team a nose in front for league honours. On Saturday the team face Perth United in the semi-final of the P & D cup. As Seven Acres is being dug up this game is likely to be played on the North Inch.

Letham 1995 (sponsored by Perthshire Flooring) Not the best of weeks losing away at Buddies and Green Room. This Sunday home to Saints Club.

Letham U17 Sky Blue (sponsored by Montana Restoration,)    The team came away with a very creditable draw at Lochside last weekend.  Activities for this weekend will be advised.

Letham U15 Tangerine (sponsored by John Gillespie, Hairdresser, St.John Street)      Mid-week the team lost by three goals to two at Blairgowrie in a league encounter. On Sunday facing the same opposition at home. The team were in top form by defeating their opponents by five goals to three to reach the final of the Barry Stephen Memorial Cup. This Sunday is derby day with a league game against the Whites.

Letham U15 White (sponsored by Ian Robertson, Joiner/ McCormack Dev/SSE, George Barrie Landscapes)  In a tight game the Whites lost by three goals to one against Breadalbane Ballinluig. On Sunday at Seven Acres they will have a tough match when their opponents are their club mates from the Tangies.

Letham U14 Tangerine 2000 (sponsored by Graham & Sibbald/ Drainco (Scotland) Ltd)        The team put in two excellent performances last week. Firstly they accounted for Abernethy by six goals to three and then at Blairgowrie defeated the home team by three goals to nil. No game this weekend.

Letham Tangerine U13 2001 (sponsored by New Today, Furniture Centre, Canal Street)        Mixed fortunes last week losing by four goals to three at Scone but then defeating Luncarty by five goals to nil. On Sunday Meigle Lads provide the opposition. Game kicks off at 10.30 a.m. at the Viewpoint.

Letham Tangerine 2002 (sponsored by McDonald’s, RGW Play Area Maint. Ltd., D Peebles, Electrical Contractor) Game at Scone last week was cancelled. This weekend the team is taking part in a festival at Crieff.

Letham Sky Blue 2002 (sponsored by Johnston Carmichael, Tay Street)   The team were at their best last week at home to Jeanfield Reds. Training as normal.

Letham Tangerine 2003 (sponsored by Vending Services Ltd,)         No game last week. This weekend playing in festival.

Letham White 2003 (sponsored by China, China, St. Leonards Bridge)      Good performance away to Bridge of Earn with some good passing moves from both teams. On Sunday the team will be taking part in the Fun Festival at Crieff.

Letham Tangerine 2004 (sponsored by Carpet Discount Store, Friarton, Perth) The team enjoyed the games against their club mates in the Whites and Sky Blues. Training as usual.

Letham 2004 White (sponsored by Tower Veterinary Centre) The team had a major challenge when they played the Tangies. However considering this was their first practice game together they can be very pleased with their performance. Training as usual.

Letham Sky Blue 2004 (sponsored by John Tainsh, Convenience Store,)   A good game against the Tangies last week. The team will be at Crieff this weekend for the Fun Festival.      

Letham 2005 Tangerine (sponsored by Sportsmatch, Meldrum Construction, Perthshire Glazing Co.)       The team had an exciting game against Bridge of Earn and both sides can be pleased at the end result. Playing in Fun Festival this weekend at Crieff.

Letham 2005 White Training continues as normal.

Letham Girls U15 (sponsored by MP & H McDonald, Plumbing & Heating)        Disappointment last week with the game at Jeanfield called off at the last minute. Tomorrow they are away to Forfar Farmington Eagles. Fiona will advise travel arrangements.

Letham Girls U13 (sponsored by Aviva)         No game last week. Saturday they are at home to Dunfermline Athletic.

Letham Girls U11 (sponsored by R.A.S.C. R.C.T. Association)   The girls enjoyed the experience playing last week at a festival at Cowdenbeath. Fiona will advise of activities this weekend.

Letham Tot’s Soccer School (sponsored by Struan Motors, Crieff Road)    Reminder that the Soccer School is now at Seven Acres Park, Newhouse Road, Letham. Boys and girls in primaries one and two continues at 10.00a.m. and primary three follows at 11.00a.m. All the usual coaches will be in attendance. Please wear football boots, shin pads and bring a drink. Cost remains at £2.00

Letham Coaches (sponsored by Scottish Co-op Community Fund)      Would like to hear from volunteers willing to give up some of their spare time and become a coach to one of our younger teams. Seven Acres Park       The contractors building our new all-weather pitch moved onto site last Tuesday. Work is expected to last sixteen weeks. This means that our pitch numbers 1 and 3 are now out of use. Advice of alternative venues will be advised on a weekly basis whilst this work continues.

Letham Girls U11, U13 and U15 have invitations for girls of all abilities who are under 11, under 13 and girls under 15 to attend our training sessions at Seven Acres Park, Newhouse Road on Monday and Thursday evenings. Under 11 and under 13 girls sessions are from 6 to 7.30 p.m. Under 15 girl sessions are from 7 to 8.30 p.m. Ask for Fiona or contact her on 07761025216
