First Trophy of the Season in the Bag
The Amateurs began the new season in style by bagging a trophy in a pre-season tournament at Kinross. With some new faces in the squad, the lost the first game against Fossoway 1-0 in a tight game that they really should have won. In the next game, however, against Lauriston, the team found themselves down 3-0 and missed a penalty before rallying to bring the score back to 3-2 before half time. They then came out in the second half to score a further 3 goals to win the game 5-3. In the final group game, the team drew 1-1 with the hosts, Kinross. This left the Amateurs in second place in the group, with Fossoway finishing top, meaning that they played Fossoway in the final. The team defeated Fossoway in the final 1-0 to bring the trophy home with them.
