Letham Community Sports Club Notes for Friday 6th April 2012
Letham Amateurs (sponsored by Sportsters, 6-8, So. Methven Street) For the second week in a row the Tangerines lost in the league this time to Fairfield by three goals to one and virtually extinguished any hopes of winning the League Championship. Tomorrow they are on the South Inch to play Craigie in the quarter final of the Ashleigh Cup. Meet South Inch pavilion at 1.00 p.m. Letham U19’s (sponsored by Taziker Industrial Ltd., Horwich) No games due to Easter holidays. The team is also looking for a friendly game. Letham U15 White (sponsored by Murthly Sawmill, Kingswood, Murthly) Last week’s game at Aberfeldy was postponed. No games this weekend. Letham U15 Sky Blue (sponsored by Montana Restoration,) No games due to Easter holidays. Letham U13 Tangerine (sponsored by John Gillespie, Hairdresser, St.John Street) In a tight game at Scone last Sunday the Tangerines squeezed home by three goals to two thanks to a last minute goal. Letham U13 White (sponsored by John B Tainsh, Convenience Store, Rannoch Road) Alas due to injury the game at Meigle was abandoned with the Whites ahead by two goals to nil. Pleased to report that young Kyle has made a full recovery following his visit to Ninewells Hospital. Training tonight from 6.oo p.m. at Seven Acres Letham Tangerine 2000 (sponsored by Glenalmond Bldg. & Maint. Ltd.,) The team playing very good football outclassed the visiting team from Cupar last weekend. Letham White 2000 (sponsored by Cherrybank Garage) The team was again impressive last week at home to Scone winning comfortably. No game this weekend. Letham Tangerine 2001 (sponsored by New Today, Furniture Centre, Canal Street) At Jeanfield last week against their Black team the Tangies were outstanding and gave the opposition a football lesson. Letham White 2002 (sponsored by RGW Play Area Maint. Ltd.,) This young side again showed their capabilities with a fine display at home to Scone. Letham Tangerine 2003 (sponsored by Flonix IT, 5 St John Street) In an end to end game the Tangies just had the edge on their opponents from Jeanfield and deserved the plaudits at the end of the game Letham Sky Blue 2002 (sponsored by Taylor’s Taxis, Leonard Street) Visiting St Madoes found the Sky Blues too good for them on the day last weekend. Letham Girls U15 (sponsored by Maximan’s Computer Media, Aberfeldy) In what was expected to be a major test last week at home to Dunfermline Athletic in the end resulted in a convincing four goals to nil victory. This was due to the team oozing confidence and playing well. Letham Girls U13 (sponsored by IJPD Bldg.Management Services Perth) No games at moment due to holidays Letham Girls U11 (sponsored by R.A.S.C. R.C.T. Association) The team are currently on an Easter break. Letham Tot’s Soccer School (sponsored by China, China, St. Leonard’s Bridge) The sessions for boys and girls in primaries 1 and 2 are suspended meantime on Saturday’s (see Easter Soccer School) Letham Coaches (sponsored by McLeod Glaziers, Inveralmond Road) The club would like to hear from volunteers willing to give up some of their spare time and become a coach to one of our younger teams. The club has no shortage of youngsters wanting to play for Letham and desperately needs additional help to meet the demand.
